The soul of a record is birthed and shaped in the recording process

I am an avid student of a well-recorded album, and have assembled a set of tools to be able to reproduce almost any style, historical and modern. The equipment list in some ways is a reflection of my curiosity - a history of inquiry into “how did they get that sound”?

But a good recording process is about more than working with a skilled engineer.

The most audible part of a record is the experience artists had making it. Welterweight is designed to be a relaxed but facilitative space for musicians’ creative process. The technical side is streamlined, acoustics are optimized, such that the process can be seamless and enjoyable for the artist.
