Welterweight Sound Studio is located on 5 acres of land in beautiful Marlborough, NY, in southern Ulster County. It was built to design by owner and producer/engineer, Ryan Dieringer.
Welterweight Sound is a 2000 sq ft, world-class recording facility set in the Hudson Valley, in beautiful Marlboro, NY. Built within a restored 150-year-old barn, the studio offers expansive live rooms, vintage analog gear, and a calm, secluded environment designed for deep creative focus.
Welterweight Sound Studio is a recording studio located in Marlboro, NY, just 20 minutes from the Beacon train station and 20 minutes from New Paltz.
After nearly a decade operating the original iteration of Welterweight in New Paltz, owner and engineer Ryan Dieringer partnered with renowned NYC studio designer Chris Bowman of CBHO Inc. to reimagine a barn and cottage on Dieringer’s Marlboro property as a world-class, 3,000-square-foot recording facility. The A-Room lives inside a fully renovated 150-year-old barn, centered around a massive live room, an acoustically tuned control room, three additional points of isolation, expansive sightlines, and a dedicated echo chamber. At the heart of the studio is a 32-channel, 1970s Memphis-made Auditronics “Son of 36 Grand” 501 console.
Next door, the cottage serves as both a comfortable lodging option and a B-Room production space, equipped with a 1970s Los Angeles–built Opamp Labs 1604 console and a sizable isolation booth.
Whether you’re here for a recording retreat, post-production, or voice-over work, Welterweight Sound is a creative partner in the Hudson Valley for all things sound.
